The marine betta, scientific name Calloplesiops Altivelis is a peaceful fish. Their minimum tank size is 50 gallons. Marine betta fish can grow up to 8” and can live up to 10 years. Marine betta are carnivores and should be fed frozen meaty foods such as mysis or brine shrimp. Marine betta should be kept singly, in pairs or in small harems if there is adequate space. Marine betta will not bother coral or invertebrates for the most part. Marine betta will prey upon shrimp and small fish. Marine betta’s are nocturnal and are most active at dusk. Marine betta’s are also referred to as the comet fish.
