The scooter dragonet, scientific name Synchiropus Ocellatus, is a peaceful fish. Their minimum tank size is 30 gallons. Scooter dragonets can grow up to 5” and can live up to 6 years. Scooter dragonets are carnivores. They will eat pods found in the tank. If there are no pods available, they can be bought and supplemented. Scooter dragonets can be kept alone, in a mated pair, and also multiple females with or without a male can be kept together if enough space is given. Male dragonets will have a large dorsal fin with a psychedelic pattern of lines and circles while females have a small dorsal fin. Scooter dragonets are reef safe, they will not bother coral or invertebrates. Scooter dragonets will be seen perched on different areas in the tank and will also glide along the substrate. The scooter dragonet is also referred to as the Scooter blenny, and the Ocellated dragonet.
