The blue damsel, scientific name Chrysiptera Cyanea, is a semi-aggressive fish. Their minimum tank size is 30 gallons. Blue damsels can grow up to 2 ¾” and can live up to 6 years. Blue damsels are omnivores and should be fed small pieces of frozen food such as brine or mysis shrimp. Blue damsels can be kept alone, in pairs or in groups as long as there is adequate space and rock work provided. If there is only a pair they should be added to the tank at the same time. Although damsels are schooling fish they often bicker so having more group members will help lessen the aggression towards each other. Damsels are reef safe, they will not bother coral or invertebrates. Damsels will find crevices in rocks to sleep in at night and during the day can be seen swimming throughout the tank. The blue damsel is also referred to as the blue devil damsel.
