The purple queen anthias, scientific name Pseudanthias Tuka, is a peaceful fish. They have a minimum tank size of 100 gallons. Purple queen anthias can grow up to 7” and can live up to 6 years. The purple queen anthias is a carnivore and should be fed frozen meaty foods such as brine or mysis shrimp. Anthias are schooling fish and are best kept in large groups but can also be kept singly, in pairs or in smaller groups. Purple queen anthias are reef safe, they will not bother any coral or invertebrates. Anthias will find crevices in the rockwork to sleep at night and will be seen swimming in the top of the water column during the day. Anthias are hermaphrodites and if the male in the group dies then the largest female will often turn into a male. Anthias species should not be mixed.
