The spotted filefish, scientific name Cantherhines Pullus is a peaceful fish. Their minimum tank size is 100 gallons. Spotted filefish can grow up to 8” and can live up to 6 years. They are omnivores and should be fed frozen meaty foods such as brine or mysis shrimp. They will also eat algae sheets if present. Spotted filefish can be kept singly, in pairs or in groups if there is adequate space. Spotted filefish will not bother coral but may prey upon crustaceans. They will be seen swimming around the tank during the day and will hide in the rockwork to sleep at night.
