The yellow banded possum wrasse, scientific name Wetmorella Nigropinnata is a peaceful fish. Their minimum tank size is 30 gallons. Yellow banded possum wrasses can grow up to 3” and can live up to 5 years. Yellow banded possum wrasses are carnivores and should be fed frozen meaty foods such as brine or mysis shrimp. Yellowbanded possums should be kept singly, in mated pairs or small herums with one male and multiple females. Keeping multiple of the same species requires adequate space and rockwork. Males have a deeper red color while females have a paler appearance. Yellow banded possum wrasses can be kept with other wrasses. Yellow banded possum wrasses are reef safe, they will not bother coral or invertebrates. They may prey upon small shrimp for example sexy shrimp and pedersons. Possum wrasses sleep in the rocks and will be swimming throughout the tank during the day. Wrasses are known for jumping and require a tight fighting lid.
