The splendid dottyback, scientific name Manonichthys Splendens, is a semi-aggressive fish. They require a 30-gallon minimum tank size. Splendid dottybacks can grow up to 3” and can live up to 7 years. Splendid dottybacks are carnivores and should be fed small pieces of frozen shrimp such as mysis or brine. Splendid dottybacks should be kept singly and will fight with all other dottybacks. Splendid dottybacks are reef safe with caution. They will not bother coral but may prey upon shrimp. Splendid dottybacks will be seen swimming in caves and throughout the rocks in the tank, at night they will find a crevice in the rocks to sleep in.
