The yellow damsel, scientific name Pomacentrus Moluccensis, is a semi-aggressive fish. Their minimum tank size is 30 gallons. They can grow up to 2 ¾ ” and can live up to 20 years. Yellow damsels are omnivores and should be fed small pieces of frozen foods such as brine or mysis shrimp.  Yellow damsels can be kept alone, in pairs, or in groups, as long as there is adequate space and rock work provided. If there is only a pair they should be added to the tank at the same time.  Although damsels are schooling fish they often bicker so having more group members will help lessen the aggression towards each other.   Damsels are reef safe, they will not bother coral or invertebrates. Damsels will find crevices to sleep in at night and during the day can be seen swimming throughout the tank.  The yellow damsel is also referred to as the golden damselfish, the Molucca damsel, or the Molucca demoiselle.
