The yellow longnose butterflyfish, scientific name Forcipiger Flavissimus is a peaceful fish. Their minimum tank size is 100 gallons. Yellow longnose butterfly can grow up to 9” and can live up to 10 years. Yellow longnose butterflies are carnivores. Yellow longnose butterfly can live alone or in pairs or small groups if there is adequate space. Yellow longnose butterfly may nip at coral or sessile invertebrates. Keeping them well fed can help lesson the chances of the fish bothering coral and inverts. Yellow longnose butterfly will swim out in the open during the day and hide in caves to sleep. The yellow longnose butterfly is also referred to as the forceps butterflyfish.
