The striped sleeper goby, scientific name Valenciennea Longipinnis is a peaceful fish. Their minimum tank size is 30 gallons. Striped sleeper gobies can grow up to 6” and can live up to 10 years. Striped sleeper gobies are omnivores and should be fed small pieces of frozen food such as brine shrimp, they will also pick at algae sheets if available. Sleeper gobies will pick sand up, clean and sift the sand through their gills back into the tank.  Sleeper gobies will do best in a tank with sand. Striped sleeper gobies can be kept singly or in pairs, if kept in pairs they should be introduced to the tank at the same time. Striped sleeper gobies are reef safe and will not bother coral or invertebrates. Striped sleeper gobies will be seen swimming throughout the tank throughout the day and will find caves to sleep in at night. Sleeper gobies are known for jumping and should have a tight fitting lid.
