The diamond butterflyfish, scientific name Hemitaurichthys Polylepis is a peaceful fish. Their minimum tank size is 100 gallons. Diamond butterflyfish can grow up to 7” and can live up to 9 years. Diamond butterflyfish are omnivores. They can live alone, in pairs or in small groups if there is adequate space. Diamond butterflyfish is coral and invertebrate safe. Diamond butterflyfish are one of the only butterfly species that does not eat coral. Naturally in the wild they will eat phytoplankton. During the day they will swim out in the open and will hide in caves to sleep at night.
