Speckled sandhoppers should be kept singly, and will not tolerate fish that is similar in appearance. The speckled sandhopper is reef safe, it will not bother any type of coral or invertebrate. Sandhopper blennies will often be seen sitting on the sand or on rocks watching the other fish in the tank. They prefer to create a burrow in the sand under a rock to sleep in and run back to when frightened.
