The bicolor blenny, scientific name Escenius Bicolor, is a peaceful fish. Their minimum tank size is 30 gallons and they can grow up to 4”. Bicolor blennies can live up to 5 years. Blennies are herbivores and will require algae present in the tank for feeding. If there is no algae present on the rocks or glass then algae should be supplemented. Bicolor blennies should be kept one per tank. Bicolor blennies should not be kept with other Escenius blennies. Blennies that are similar size and shape will normally fight because of food security, housing spaces or territorial issues. Bicolor blennies are reef safe and will not eat inverts or coral. Bicolor blennies will often find a hole in the rocks to hide themselves in and will be seen sticking their head out of the rocks, once they become comfortable they will be seen sitting on the rocks or swimming from rock to rock. The bicolor blenny is also called the two-colored blenny.
