The lyretail hogfish, scientific name Bodianus is a semi-aggressive fish. Their minimum tank size is 80 gallons. The lyretail hogfish can grow up to 8” and can live up to 11 years. Lyretail hogfish are carnivores and should be fed frozen meaty foods such as brine or mysis shrimp. Lyretail hogfish should be kept singly. Lyretail hogfish will not bother coral. Mature hogfish will prey upon shrimp, snails, mussels and small fish. Hogfish will sleep in the rocks but will be seen swimming around the tank during the day.
