The fire tail dottyback, scientific name Labracius Cyclophthalmus is an aggressive fish. They have a minimum tank size of 80 gallons. Fire tail dottybacks can grow up to 10” and can live up to 10 years. They are one of the larger dottybacks found in the aquarium hobby. Fire tail dottybacks are carnivores and should be fed frozen meaty foods such as mysis shrimp. They should be kept singly as they will become territorial to other fire tail dottybacks. They should not be kept with other dottybacks. Fire tail dottybacks will not bother coral but they will prey upon crustaceans and small fish. Fire tail dottybacks will sleep in the rocks and hide in caves and rock work during the day.
