The yellowbelly damsel, scientific name Chrysiptera Hemicyanea, is a semi-aggressive fish. Their minimum tank size is 30 gallons. Yellowbelly damsels can live up to 2 ½” and can live up to 6 years. Yellowbelly damsel are omnivores and should be fed small pieces of frozen foods such as mysis or brine shrimp. Yellowbelly damsels can be kept alone, in pairs, or in groups, as long as there is adequate space and rock work provided. If there is only a pair they should be added to the tank at the same time.  Although damsels are schooling fish they often bicker so having more group members will help lessen the aggression towards each other.  Damsels are reef safe, they will not bother coral or invertebrates. Damsels will find crevices to sleep in at night and during the day can be seen swimming throughout the tank. The yellowbelly is also referred to as the kupang yellow belly damsel or the azure damsel.
