The threadfin butterflyfish, scientific name Chaetodon Auriga is a peaceful fish. Their minimum tank size is 100 gallons. Threadfin butterflyfish can grow up to 8” and can live up to 7 years. Threadfin butterflyfish are omnivores. Threadfin butterflyfish will eat aiptasia anemones. Threadfin butterflyfish can live alone, in pairs or in small groups if there is adequate space. Threadfin butterflyfish will eat coral and may prey upon crustaceans, anemones and ornamental worms.  Threadfin butterflyfish will swim out in the open during the day and hide in caves to sleep.
