Did you know many finfish have bizarre breeding habits or processes that biologically change their gender from either male to female like a clownfish, or vice versa female to male like a wrasse. These changes can happen for various reasons, such as a more mature mate dying, no obvious matriarch/patriarch of same species in their proximity, or simply getting to a certain age. There are even some species like gobies that can switch back and forth between genders when needed or desired. Hermaphroditism is odd to us but to fish its just part of the fertility plan.
