The swales basslet, scientific name Liopropoma Swalesi, is a semi-aggressive fish. This fish has a minimum tank size of 20 gallons. They can grow up to 3” and can live up to 15 years. Swales basslets are carnivores and should be fed frozen foods such as mysis or brine shrimp. They will also hunt pods if they are present. Swales basslet should be kept singly and should be introduced to the tank at the same time as other basslets with similar appearances. Swales basslets are reef safe with caution. They will not bother any type of coral but they may prey upon small crustaceans they can fit in their mouth. The swales basslet will hide and sleep in crevices found in the rocks. During the day they will often be hiding in the caves of the rocks. The sales basslet is also referred to as the swissguard swales basslet.
