The Platygyra is a green and teal type of LPS coral that is often referred to as “Brain Worm Corals” or “Brain Maze Corals”. These corals are considered intermediate level as they can be quick to die when stressed. Platygyra are considered semi-aggressive as they have sweeper polyps that can damage other corals. They should be placed in the lower to middle sections of your tank and provided with a low to moderate light setting and moderate water flow.
Platygyra does not require but will benefit from feedings of coral food (reef roids), phyto-plankton, and brine shrimp. Larger pieces of food such as mysis shrimp are not digestible and while they may be grabbed by the polyps they will later be spit back up.
