This crab comes from the Inachidae family. The decorator crab grows up to 4” and their lifespan is unknown. Decorator crabs are carnivores that will scavenge leftover food from the tank. If they are not getting enough food from the tank, they can be given small pieces of meaty foods every day. Decorator crabs have a minimum tank size of 40 gallons. They are considered peaceful, and will not bother invertebrates. They are called decorator crabs because of their desire to cut up and cover their body/legs with any type of algae/coral they can as a way to camouflage their body, because of this they are not safe to any type of soft coral.
