The candy basslet, scientific name Liopropoma Carmabi, is a peaceful fish. This fish has a minimum tank size of 40 gallons. They have a maximum size of 2 ½” and can live up to 15 years. The candy basslet is a carnivore and should be fed frozen meaty foods such as brine or mysis shrimp. They will also hunt pods if they are present. Candy basslets should be kept singly and should be introduced to the tank at the same time as other basslets with similar appearances. Candy basslets are reef safe with caution. They will not bother coral but they may prey upon small crustaceans they can fit in their mouth. The candy basslet will hide and sleep in crevices found in the rocks. During the day they will often be hiding in the caves of the rocks. The candy basslet is also referred to as deepwater candy basslet.
